James Ellroy : 'It took me 6 published novels to earn a living as a writer..." | #mediabistroTV
Although best-selling novelist James Ellroy's journey to success was far from a cake walk,
he has a surprisingly cheery disposition about it. In today's media beat, Ellroy talks about
his recent memoir The Hillicker Curse, and details how his upbringing inspired his widely read
crime novels. "I had no family. I caddied at country clubs. It took me six published novels
to tenuously earn a living as a writer. But I don't view it as a struggle," he said.
