"If You Forget Me" by Pablo Neruda
read by Madonna
music by Samuel Barber
Adagio for Strings
I want you to know
one thing.
You know how this is :
If I look
at the crystal moon,
at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
If I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
Everything carries me to you,
As if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.
Well, now.
If little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you.
Little by little.
If suddenly you forget me,
Do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.
If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
Remember,
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.
But ...
If each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
If each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
Ah my love,
Ah my own,
In me all that fire is repeated,
In me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
My love feeds on your love,
beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine ...

The Last Bookshop imagines a future where physical books have died out.
One day, a small boy's holographic entertainment fails, so he heads out to explore the streets of abandoned shops outside. Down a forgotten alley he discovers the last ever bookshop. And inside, an ancient shopkeeper has been waiting over 25 years for a customer...
Produced by The Bakery in the South-East of England, filming took place in 2011, with post-production completed in 2012. The music was composed by Owen Hewson and performed by Arlet.
Veteran actor Alfred Hoffman stars alongside youthful co-star Joe Holgate.
It is written by Richard Dadd, who also co-directs alongside Dan Fryer.
We love bookshops. But we saw that many are going through tough times.
We wanted to contribute to the cultural debate with our own celebration in support of these glorious independents and their shelves of treasures. So with the help of some remarkable independent bookshops, and a lot of talented friends, we have been able to make our idea for The Last Bookshop into a reality. We hope you enjoy this film and share it with your friends...

Namibian Nights from Squiver on Vimeo.
It's not easy to come up with something new when you visit the same place every year for more than a decade. Over the years Marsel has created the most extensive and most popular night photography portfolio of Namibia on this planet, and two years ago he decided it was time to take it to the next level.
The idea was to create a night photography timelapse video featuring his most popular subjects in this amazing country: the fairytale-like quivertrees and the eery, dead camelthorn trees in Deadvlei - something that had never been done before. But instead of going for static scenes, Marsel decided to add movement to the scenes by using a dolly system.
All scenes were shot during the night with Nikon D3, D3s and D4 cameras. We used small headlights for selectively lighting trees and rocks, and we sometimes used the moon. The brighter the scene, the more moon there was at the time. For the arch scene we timed our shoot exactly with moonset, which involved quite a bit of calculating and planning. But the hardest one of all was probably the mist scene in Deadvlei. Mist in Deadvlei only occurs around five times a year, so we had to keep a close eye on the weather predictions and many attempts were unsuccessful. When we finally got it right, the results far exceeded our expectations and show Deadvlei as no one has ever seen it before.
Each second of video consists of 30 photographs. In total, Marsel shot more than 16,000 images over a period of two years for this project.
The video won First Prize in the 2012 Travel Photographer Of The Year Awards.

Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe | #Film | via #YouTube

Denise Levertov reads Six of Her Poems
Denise Levertov reads six poems from her later collections, three from EVENING TRAIN (1992) and three later included in her posthumously published collection SANDS OF THE WELL (1998). This is an extract from an hour-long reading she gave for the Lannan Foundation in Los Angeles on 7 December 1993. The poems are: 'Settling', 'Open Secret', 'Tragic Error', 'The Danger Moment', 'A Gift' and 'For Those Whom the Gods Love Less', three of which were also included in her SELECTED POEMS (New Directions, 2002), which was published in Britain as NEW SELECTED POEMS (Bloodaxe Books, 2003):
http://www.bloodaxebooks.com/titlepag...
Denise Levertov (1923-97) was born in Essex, and educated at home by her father, a Russian Jewish immigrant, who became an Anglican priest, and by her Welsh mother. In 1948, she emigrated to America, where she was acclaimed by Kenneth Rexroth in The New York Times as 'the most subtly skilful poet of her generation, the most profound, the most modest, the most moving,' and during the following decades she became 'a poet who may just be the finest writing in English today' (Kirkus Reviews). Throughout her life, she worked also as a political activist, campaigning tirelessly for civil rights and environmental causes, and against the Vietnam War, the Bomb and US-backed regimes in Latin America.

Colr Inc. asked me to make a motion piece and gave me free reign to create, the only directive was given that it would include the logo somehow.
APPROACH AND SOLUTION
When i first saw the existing Logo of Colr, it remind me Abstract Painter Kenneth Noland's Painting "Beginning". This kind of direct me to Color field Painting era. The colors of the logo were prominent enough to execute it in a minimal way. For me the question was, how I can get out of that circular borders of the logo without losing the colours and the main shape of it.
The main inspiration came from the Painter which I always admired Morris Louis and his Color Field Paintings. I've decided to combine these two ideas in my design (colours & stripes) and execute it with Strands as simple as possible and give the birth of Colr concept, expand the idea with a smooth motion that is integrated to the Logo and Typeface and observe the sheer beauty and impact of color.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Originally written as a stageplay under the tutelage of theater, film, and TV legend Tom Skerritt, I adapted Free Pie for the screen and partnered with producers Gabe Berghuis, Aaron B. Smith and the Gorilla Film Community in Grand Rapids to shoot the film in two nights. With three dedicated actors and a small crew, the filming took place in a puzzling house designed by a cathedral architect shortly before his death (the present homeowner being incapable of residing at the home, due to a mysterious allergy).
Because the 10-minute film takes place in real-time, the entire team was able to experience the actors performing the script from start to finish as though they were watching a play. Given the short shooting schedule to execute the ambitious deep-focus look (the film was shot exclusively on a 18mm and 25mm Master Primes), the live performance of the film proved to be an invaluable way of creating a unified vision for the cast and crew.
Director Statement:
I've received various emails and messages inquiring about the film's meaning, who Kowalski is, what the pie represents, etc. Ultimately, I feel that meaning is a product of the equation "Film + Audience" and consequently just as varied as the individuals who watch it, but after a friend informed me that her fashion blog (where she had posted images of her outfit for the Free Pie premiere) was being frequented by the google search "what is meaning of free pie short film," it became clear that a few words should be said. So rather than explain what it all means, I offer any interested viewers the following context for how this story came to be.
Inspiration for Free Pie stems back to its origins as a "joke script" that I and my co-conspirator Justin Hall would redraft whenever we became stuck on a more serious project (the more extreme iterations I leave to your imagination). Years later when I joined a screenwriting course at TheFilmSchool, we were required to arrive at Tom Skerritt's class with a 4-6 page stageplay ready. I decided that the Day of Pie had finally arrived. Although the original story began as something of an exercise in grievous absurdity, the formation of the actual script was thematically influenced by a story I was told while compiling research for my short documentary "Juggle & Cut" (the story of prodigy juggler and woodcarver Andy Phelps, who suffered a tragic accident at age 16 rendering him paralyzed). While interviewing Andy's brother, Dave, he described to me the first night of being in the hospital after the accident... Dave was a philosophy major in Ann Arbor, MI, and he had driven across the state to join family and friends at the hospital, but over the course of the evening his role as "older brother" slowly dissolved into that of crowd control: answering the same questions that every new grief-stricken visitor arrived asking. After many emotionally draining hours of monitoring his post by the door, Dave was surprised to see his philosophy Professor suddenly walk through. Noticing his student's mixed state of fatigue and social obligation, the Professor went over and sat beside Dave in complete silence. After a few minutes, he leaned over and simply said "It's exhausting taking care of those who come to comfort us." The Professor sat with Dave for the next two hours without saying a single word…he was just there.
I found the story to be profoundly revealing of how oftentimes we project ourselves onto those who are suffering, and how we often comfort more out of our own need to feel like we contributed than out of a delicate evaluation of our friend's needs. We want to know we made a difference, which is an inherently self-gratifying perspective. Dave's professor transcended this common pitfall by genuinely thinking outside of himself and raising the needs of another above his own. Perhaps consolation is not a decorated service, but a sacrificial one.

Imagine swimming through your day in an ocean of blue expertly matched to a series of David Hockney pool paintings.
In the latest episode of Cubes, we show you the New York offices of Morris + King public relations. Lead partner and co-principal Judith R. King takes the mediabistroTV crew on a journey featuring chairs from the Stella Solaris cruise ship and 1970s French jumbo jets, specially chosen chandeliers and offices painted any color you like as long as its blue. Or you can watch because its the first Cubes ever to feature a duet sung as a musical interlude. You're welcome.
